A fantastic little seat!

We recently inherited an antique dining room suite with 8 chairs. We had no room for a traditional high chair, so I started shopping for a booster version. I looked at the Fisher Price, and loved the features. The seat is useful from day one with a newborn, as it reclines comfortably, and allows them to be with you at meals. Finally! A place to put a tiny baby while Mom eats! When baby starts first foods, the seat can stay reclined (in several positions), and the tray can swivel straight. This is a REALLY nice feature as well, as your baby probably be excited, and being slightly reclined helps a lot with the bobbing head and gives you a better chance at catching the food that gets pushed back out as they get the hang of eating. I did try a cheaper seat first, that appeared to have similar features. Just don't bother. The other seat was made very cheaply (hence the price difference). It also had some really foolish design flaws. The cheap seat was VERY hard to adjust and recline, and who cuts seatbelt slots into the bottom of a seat...impossible to keep it clean! So that seat went back, and I have been thrilled with the F.P. Space Saver. The recline feature is very easy to adjust, and the tray comes on and off with one hand. If your baby is hot natured, you may want to put a cloth diaper down over the plastic pad in the summer time. The padding is made of a nice quality vinyl, but I will probably not machine wash it. I'll just spray it off in the shower if it needs a thorough cleaning. All in all, it's very worth the money, and a great product.

When we moved from our old house, we lost our formal dining room and lots of extra elbow room around the old dinner table. That's why this high chair is so great - all the features of a big, clunky high chair, but very compact. I also like that it converts to a booster as baby grows.

I have triplets so we got three of these chairs. There are several things I really like about it--I love how it looks (like another reviewer said--not gaudy), 3 fit very well in our not-large dining room, and the size is great for smaller babies (other high chairs are too big at first--by the time my older daughter grew into her big chair she was ready to be in a booster/trayless high chair).
I do have a major beef about its lack of cleanability. The pad at the arms gaps away from the chair, allowing food to slip down the side to get the fabric backing dirty. It is "surface wipe only", yet the backing is this meshy fabric that absorbs things. My son recently vomited while sitting in the chair, it went down the side and vomit was absorbed by the fabric backing--yuck! I ignored manufacturer instructions and machine washed it on delicate, and the pad cracked/tore (so they really mean it that you can't machine wash it). Why don't they a) make it machine washable or b) change the design so that it's not possible for food (or WHATEVER!) to slip down the side?
I also get really sick of washing the trays--the Healthy Care (fullsize) FP highchair has the awesome feature of the snap-in tray insert; they really need to add that to this chair. You have to gingerly hand-wash the tray, trying to avoid getting any water on the back, because it's very hard to get water out of the mechanism on the back of the tray. I so wish I could just pop three tray inserts into my dishwasher instead (but then--I'm washing three trays after every meal so this bothers me more that the average mom probably!)

We've been using this high chair ever since my 19 month old was able to sit in it. The only complaint I can possibly think of is that the straps are a little difficult to get clean. Other than that, it's great. I haven't had any of the problems the other reviews have mentioned. The tray only comes off if you don't put it on straight (it's not difficult to put on correctly, though), the tray settings are close enough together that I never have had a problem with it being too far away from or too close to my daughter, the cover is very soft and seems comfy and it's very easy to clean (btw, it is NOT supposed to be machine washable, just surface wash, but I wash mine in the machine occasionally and it's still holding up very nicely), plus you can always use the seat without the cushion if you're too lazy to put it back on after a washing (like me sometimes). The seat is very sturdy; I've never had a problem getting it to balance right. And best of all, it saves so much space! We even took this chair to restaurants with us before my daughter was big enough to use a wooden restaurant high chair. Seriously, we wouldn't trade this high chair for any other.

WOW I love this! Assembly was great! It came in 3 pieces, I was so relieved! It straps to any chair, 2 clicks and you're done. It is so secure too. My daughter is a wiggle worm extreme sometimes, and this thing doesn't budge. (You could use it on the floor too if you wanted to sit and feed your baby...you don't have to use a chair.) Super lightweight, you can swith chairs easily. Not really compact though, not ideal for travel.
I love the 5 point harness, it buckles her in just like her car seat. It was great when she was small and just starting cereal and would flop around a bit, it really helped her sit up straight. Now its great to control those wiggles. :)
It also has 3-position recline, great for those first feedings when baby can't sit up totally straight.
Ooh and the tray snaps on and off easy, adjusts easily too. The tray is dishwasher safe (yay) but wipes off easily too. P.S. Pampers Sensitive wipes are great for wiping baby cereal off hard surfaces. For some reason those are the only ones that do a great job, and I've tried a few.
Get ready for this...the cover is completely vinyl. There is nothing on this chair that you can't wipe down with a wash cloth (except the straps, but they clean up really easily too).
I really can't say enough about this chair! It's a space saver and at $50 is cheaper than most high chairs at $80+.
One change I would make is color options. The color is fine, not ugly or weird at all - like some gender neutrals, but I have a girl so I proudly buy pink everything. Oh well, GREAT highchair!

Great chair. Love the color and that it's small. You can take it out of the chair for an extra seat. Although I do have problems getting the tray on and locked. Also, the straps get dirty and don't wipe off like the rest of the chair. It's a great alternative if you don't want a big, "colorful" (I say gaudy) chair.

I really like this chair because it saved a lot of space in our small house. However, now my daughter is 13 months old and the tray doesn't lock right anymore. It takes several tries to get the tray to lock into place and sometimes i'll think its locked but my daughter will push on it and it hits the floor. It's also either too loose or too tight, depending on which setting I use. My mom has a stand alone high chair and I feel like she's much safer in it. It's more stable and she can't push the tray off. Also, as a side note, i have cushioned seats and it will attatch correctly, you just have to really make sure its tight and that the seat is deep enough to fit the highchair. You can't see it in the picture but there is a plastic piece that comes out the back to help balance it that may be why the other reviewer couldn't get it stable. Hope this review helps. If you have a small kitchen like I did you just can't beat the space you save with this chair.

I bought this chair and then threw it out after the seat cushion fell apart. I put it in the machine (it is machine washable) and it tore. The tray broke because my daughter pushed on it. We finally just bought a better booster chair.

I love this high chair. It was one of the easiest products that we purchased for our first son and I'm looking forward to using it with our second! Very easy to clean! And I love the fact that the cover comes off and is machine washable.
